Job Summary:
The Membership Manager organizes activities around membership, ensures milestones and goals are met, and manages the volunteer program for a non-profit society. Manages the database to ensure accuracy of the data and to protect the integrity of the system. Maintain focus on customer service and membership communications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for management of all aspects of the membership life cycle and member experience.
- Streamline member-related business processes and optimize staff effectiveness.
- Serve as staff liaison for committees as assigned.
- Maintain data integrity standards for member-related information.
- Maintain member benefits information on the client website and in digital and print formats.
- Serve as a staff knowledge resource for using member data and benefits information.
- Maintain and manage the volunteer program, volunteer campaign, and ensure effectiveness and accuracy of the volunteer portal and processes.
- Assist with ongoing communications efforts and publications.
- Create and maintain marketing materials for distribution at meetings.
- Serve as backup for client HQ as needed.
- Maintain the membership booth and ensure the booth is prepared for meetings.
- Participate in hiring, training, and coaching for the membership team, as needed.
- Responsible for the member recruitment process and retention efforts.
- Ensure outstanding customer service towards members and prospective members.
Reporting Relationships and Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Executive Director
- Supervisory responsibilities: To be assigned
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
- Three to five years of experience in membership services or related field.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Creative and effective problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facility.
- Occasionally lifts, carries, and positions objects weighing up to 30 lbs. when moving supplies and records.
- Regularly moves about the office to coordinate work.
- Occasional weekend and evening work.
- Ability to travel domestically on an annual basis.
Salary and Benefits:
The starting salary for this position depends on the depth and breadth of experience. Regular full-time employees are eligible for benefits package including the following:
