Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. This role supports attorneys and paralegals in delivering high-quality legal services by managing administrative tasks, preparing legal documents, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the Firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of legal procedures and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, proofread, and edit legal documents
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and track deadlines
- Maintain and organize physical and electronic legal files and records
- Handle professional correspondence (incoming/ outgoing mail, emails, and phone calls) with clients, attorneys, opposing counsel, and other legal professionals
- Maintain confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat (PDFs)
- Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and be adaptable to changing priorities
- Proven problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving challenges
Preferred Skills:
- Minimum of 1 years of experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, or similar legal support role
- Familiarity with e-filing systems
- Experience supporting multiple attorneys and/or paralegals
Work Model:
- On-Site Monday through Friday
- Hours between 7:30am to 5:00pm (‘choose your own’ 7.50 hour work-day)
