Position Overview:
We’re seeking a proactive team member with a strong work ethic to join our Office team. The ideal candidate quickly learns new processes, adapts to changing priorities, and handles technical responsibilities with accuracy and care. As the first point of contact for samples, the Office team plays a vital role in ensuring the success of our lab’s samples, data, and daily operations.
- Part-time (20-35 hours per week) during November-June with hours increasing to full-time during July-October
- Typical office setting with minimal exposure to laboratory environment. Some work in the storage facility that requires accessing samples stored on moving shelves, requires ladder-use.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with entering client and sample information into the laboratory’s information management system while upholding client confidentiality
- Help respond to basic client inquiries and provide updates on sample status as directed
- Support the preparation of test materials, labels, and documentation needed for testing
- Assist in entering analytical data and generating reports of analysis
- Provide support with organizing and filing billing records, reports, and sample documentation
- Assist with ordering, receiving, and restocking office and laboratory supplies
- Assist with retrieving, storing, and organizing client samples following established procedures
- Maintain accurate records and ensure data entered is complete and consistent
- Follow all safety guidelines, quality procedures, and standard operating processes to support daily lab operations
- Contribute to quality management initiatives by learning quality systems and assisting with SOP updates and training materials
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework or a completed degree preferred
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new software systems (experience with LIMS or databases is a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task responsibilities and to manage tasks with changing priorities
- Comfortable working in both office and laboratory environments and able to lift or move sample materials as needed (up to 25 lbs)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Preferred, experience with quality management systems
