River Point Farms is seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician to join our onion processing plant team!

Summary:

The Maintenance Technician II performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and facility systems. This role works with moderate independence to support equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and maintain safe operations.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on production equipment, facilities, and utility systems.
  • Troubleshoot common mechanical and electrical issues and complete repairs.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Inspect equipment and identify potential issues before failures occur.
  • Replace parts such as motors, belts, bearings, and pumps.
  • Read basic schematics, manuals, and work orders to complete repairs.
  • Assist with equipment installation and modifications.
  • Follow all safety, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and use equipment properly.
  • Keep accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts usage.
  • Communicate equipment issues and repair needs to supervisors.
  • Support team coordination and work alongside other technicians.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ability to read basic drawings, manuals, and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Have adequate vision to safely perform job duties, including near and distance vision, color recognition, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Work is performed primarily in a plant environment, with occasional exposure to office settings as job duties require.
  • The role involves frequent interaction with moving mechanical components, including conveyors, processing equipment, and industrial machinery.
  • Employees may regularly encounter wet or slippery surfaces, dust, and fluctuating temperatures, including hot and cold conditions typical of agricultural processing facilities.
  • Occasional work at heights or in confined or elevated locations may be required, with potential exposure to electrical or mechanical hazards.
  • Periodic exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous chemicals used in processing, cleaning, or maintenance activities.
  • Noise levels are often high and may require the use of hearing protection.
  • Work hours may vary based on and may include day, night, weekend, holiday, or extended shifts to support continuous operations.
  • Travel by vehicle may be required for other company facilities, suppliers, or operational sites.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hard hats, safety footwear, hearing protection, and protective clothing will be provided in accordance with applicable laws and company policy. Employees are required to wear designated PPE when tasks or work areas require it; compliance with PPE requirements is mandatory.
