Job Description:

AGI’s Project Manager provides overall management direction for existing projects, and develops new business opportunities relative to a particular customer, group of customers, or type of project. They may direct several projects through subordinate team members. They are fully responsible for the safe, on-time completion of projects, completed within budget, and to both AGI Fabricator’s standards and the customer’s satisfaction. We expect the successful candidate to interact with other company leaders and help sell full complement of company services.

 Responsibilities:

·        Oversee total fabrication effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, A/E representatives, union officials, subcontractors, security, etc.

·        Purchasing is

·        Plan, coordinate and/or supervise activities of all company personnel on assigned projects

·        Initiate and maintain liaison with client and A/E contacts to facilitate fabrication activities

·        Monitor/control fabrication through administrative direction of APM, trade superintendent, & shop foremen to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; analyze variances and implement corrective measures

·        Represent the company in project meetings, project negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.

·        Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee, billings, payment, subcontractor, income/expenses, value engineering, etc.) to protect company’s interest and relationship with the customer

·        Accountable for making decisions and recommendations which can greatly affect profitability of assigned area

·        Authorize/approve all project transactions, billings, subcontractor requisitions, material purchases, change requests, etc.

·        Take full responsibility for project management to ensure a successful outcome for customers and the company

·        Ensure all company, customer and project policies, procedures, standards, objectives, are adhered to

·        Ensure project logs and documentation files are maintained (directly or through APM)

·        Assist with implementation/interpretation of safety procedures

·        Provide direction to planning, scheduling and engineering functions as required; mentor APMs

·        Build upon customer relationships for securing future work

·        Maintain high level of service and quality upon which our business has been built

·        Complete any additional assignments per supervisor’s direction

Specific Requirements:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred and minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction/fabrication leadership

               -or-

·        10 years progressive trade experience including 5 years’ experience in construction/fabrication related leadership

Qualifications/Skills:

·        Demonstrated understanding of fabrication & construction projects from conception through completion, including conceptual design, estimating, pre-construction, construction & project close-out

·        Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance

·        Skilled in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project)

·        Above-average math skills and ability to read blueprints/drawings – Knowledge of mechanical systems is a plus

·        Good interpersonal, verbal & written communication, and leadership skills

·        Detail-oriented

·        Ability to “think outside the box” and encourage creative thinking in others

·        Significant independent judgment skills; proven track record of accountability & increased responsibilities

·        Thorough understanding of corporate/industry practices, processes, standards, objectives and their impact on project activities

·        Ability to prioritize based on what is best for the company

·        Self-motivated and motivator of others

·        Assertive with a progressive, positive attitude

·        Interested in personal and professional growth and willing to personally invest in development

·        Ability to work as part of a team to achieve the company’s overall goals

Pay Range:         Pay dependent upon level of experience and education
