Agency Insurance Company (AIC) is a privately held, growth-oriented personal auto, motorcycle, and commercial auto carrier rated A- by AM Best that writes business solely through our independent agency partners. AIC wrote over $450 million in premium in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Tennessee during 2025. We are searching for a Territory Sales Manager (TSM) to join our Team and expand our presence in Southern Virginia.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
Increase sales from existing agencies. Grow your territory’s premium 10% per year. Southern Virginia is a $70 million territory with premiums generated from over 220 monthly producing agencies.
Establish new agency relationships. Add a minimum of 12 new agency locations per year who meet our underwriting guidelines through aggressive prospecting.
Other important job functions: Initiate a minimum of 5 daily agency visits per travel day to promote and sell AIC products. Effectively use online tools to hold remote meetings and training sessions with agency partners. Document your daily sales activity. Train agents on AIC products and technology. Uncover and distribute competitor information and other market research to Product Management on a regular basis.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- A proven track record of success with a sales organization.
- At least 2 years sales experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.
- Projects a professional and positive attitude.
- A college degree is preferred.
- Possess excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to interact with a diverse group of people within our company and the agency plant.
- The ability to work independently without daily supervision.
- Proficient computer skills with experience using Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Capability to travel overnight occasionally.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
COMPENSATION
$75,000 to $100,000 is offered commiserate with experience. A quarterly bonus plan is also included.
