Job Description:

SCOPE OF POSITION:

Primary liaison working with state and local partners to lead district change efforts relating to project goals and objectives; implement and monitor project systems; coordinate local program; act as liaison to Project Directors; provide youth and parent engagement and information dissemination; plan, manage, and implement evidence-based Communities in Schools (CIS) Model of integrated student supports at schools. Support the organization's mission, vision, and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: Honesty, Excellence, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Work closely with AFMC Community Resources to achieve the goals outlined in the project.

  • Build and lead a school support team that collaborates with school administrators, teachers, and support staff in the implementation of the CIS Model.

  • Attend all planning meetings and gather necessary data to be used for meetings and for grant reports.

  • Ensure that parents and local community members participate in appropriate planning meetings.

  • Lead the annual CIS school needs assessment process.

  • Lead the development of an implementation of the CIS school support plan.

  • Maintain a student caseload and coordinate delivery of tiered supports to student on caseload.

  • Participate in school-wide events, functions, and duties as available and appropriate to role.

  • Identify assets and potential risk factors for students, families, communities; encourage and amplify these assets; take measures to reduce those risk factors and/or their impacts upon student success.

  • Care for, involve, and work with families and community.

  • Identify and connect with community partners that address student and school needs.

  • Ensure all activities address designated performance goals, the appropriate target audience, and are performed within designated time frame.

  • Adhere to format, content, and style guidelines, giving consideration to usability and ensuring accuracy, consistency and quality. Maintain editorial/communication mission.

  • Communicate needs and requests to other team members as appropriate.

  • Follow AFMC, state and federal protocols regarding data confidentiality/security and HIPAA compliance.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Travel to Little Rock office is required at least biannually for meetings

Physical and Sensory Requirements (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices):

Mobility, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, ability to read and write ability to communicate with personnel, ability to remain calm under stress and ability to travel as needed. Must be capable of performing the essential job functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodations.

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Public Administration, Childhood Development or related field.

Desired: Master's degree.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: In youth and education systems, public relations, and program implementation; understanding of local community and culture. Three years of equivalent experience in education, social work, or related fields. Must have valid driver's license and automobile insurance with an acceptable driving record.
