Outpatient Mental Health Professional
Purpose of Position
The Mental Health Professional (Therapist/MHP) will be responsible for providing functions related to the delivery of Mental Health/Behavioral Health care to assigned adult and youth clients. Services provided will include Intake Assessment, Treatment Planning, Individual/Family/Group Therapy, Psychoeducation, Crisis Intervention and Crisis Stabilization.
Functions:
Clinical:
- Complete comprehensive clinical assessments for assigned adults and youth.
- Determine service need(s) and medical necessity.
- Formulate comprehensive treatment plans that are individualized to the individual/family's specific treatment needs and are based on clinical experience and knowledge.
- Utilize various, best-practice therapy modalities of treatment.
- Provide Individual/Family/Group therapy services to promote optimum mental health and overall well-being.
- Provide Psychoeducation to education individuals and families on services provided and mental health diagnosis.
- Provide clinical consultation and work in partnership with individuals and families, other staff members and community stakeholders in carrying out the goals and objectives of the treatment plan.
- Refer individuals inquiring about services or in service to appropriate community agencies and resources.
- Prepare and maintained all state, local, federal and company documentation, treatment records and reports.
- Provide QBHP Supervision and Observation as outlined by Agency and PASSE policy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Ensure health, safety and welfare of consumers through service coordination and oversight:
- Ensure all approved services for the consumers are provided in accordance with their treatment plan as agreed to by the consumer, his/her guardian (as appropriate), treatment team, and other consumer identified stakeholders.
- Maintain confidentiality of all individuals and families served related to treatment as well as all service records in accordance with all applicable HIPPA and confidentiality laws, rules and regulations.
- Act as advocate for those receiving therapy services to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
Compliance with Federal, State and Agency Policy and Procedures:
- Ensure compliance with Agency Policy and Procedures as related to provision of clinical services.
Records/Reports/Documentation:
- Ensure that documentation of service planning, authorization, billing and provision is completed in a manner consistent with Agency Policy and Procedures and State rules/definitions/laws.
- Ensure adherence to confidentiality of records and documentation consistent with HIPPA guidelines.
- Ensure that incident reports are completed and submitted to appropriate state/local agencies, consistent with Agency Policy and Procedures and State rules/laws.
- Ensure that confidential information is released consistent with Agency Policy and Procedures and State and Federal laws.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field.
- Candidate must be a Licensed Mental Health Professional in the State of Arkansas.
- Experience working in the mental health field preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license as driving is essential to the job.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a treatment team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
