Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)

Role and Responsibilities: The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct occupational therapy rehabilitation care to patients in a skilled nursing facility setting. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, they implement treatment plans, document progress, and assist patients in achieving functional improvements. The role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, maintaining patient confidentiality, ensuring safety and sanitation, and demonstrating professionalism and integrity. The COTA also participates in community health projects, communicates effectively with patients and families, and adheres to all applicable laws and facility policies.

Qualifications And Skills

• NBCOT certification (renewal optional)
• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program
• Active, in-good-standing state licensure
• CPR certification (must be current)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and communication skills
• Ability to make independent decisions, demonstrate good body mechanics, and work as part of a team
• Preferred: One year of experience; new grads welcome
