The primary purpose of this position is : The 412th Maintenance Group (MXG) is responsible to 412th Test Wing (TW) Commander for establishing/evaluating logistics test requirements for all new/or modified weapons systems/subsystems assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have 3 years of general experience, 1 year of which is equivalent to Federal experience at the next lower grade (GS-04), level, pay band (NH-01), or equivalent (pay schedule, pay band, etc). General experience is described as: Experience in fields such as quality control, quality inspection, contracting and purchasing, supply and storage, industrial or production planning, research and engineering, maintenance, and test and evaluation that provided (1) familiarity with quality assurance or related work, (2) pertinent product or process knowledge and skill, (3) ability to interpret and apply contract requirements and engineering specifications, and (4) skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
OR
EDUCATION: Applicant must have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, with a major study of quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Applicant must have equivalent combinations of successfully completed qualifying education and experience to meet total experience requirements. You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
IDEAL CANDIDATE: is someone that has:7-level Civilian equivalent experience
Considered Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more airframes (Trainers/Fighters) (Highly Desired)
Previous Quality Assurance Experience (Highly Desired)
Will review engineering disposition requests for non-standard aircraft and equipment repairs as the SME to ensure necessity, accuracy, and completeness prior to submittal.
1. Strong background in one or more aircraft maintenance or related occupations, such as: aircraft, airframe, structure, aircraft accessory systems, propulsion equipment, weapons, munitions, or egress.
2. Knowledge of Quality Assurance principles and their application.
3. Knowledge in interpreting and applying preliminary test, and established technical data, guidelines and checklist.
4. Skill in technical writing.
5. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
6. Ability to make oral presentations.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Responsibilities:
- Responsible to perform evaluations of the effectiveness of maintenance operations in meeting established goals and objectives through the performance of inspections and evaluations such as Quality Verification Inspections (QVI), Personal Evaluations (PE), and Special Inspections (SI) as identified in applicable directives.
- As directed will be responsible for the internal management and/or technical review of one or more of the following programs or processes: ACFT/Equip Impoundment program, Functional Check Flight (FCF) program, Configuration management program (to include the modification of all assigned aircraft and equipment), Deficiency Reporting, Technical Order Corrections and Improvements, Time Compliance technical Orders, One Time Inspections, Tool Accountability System (TAS), Locally Manufactured or Developed Tool, Operating Instructions, Locally Prepared Technical Data (LPTD) (including Local Page Supplements (LPS), Local Work Cards, (LWC). Local Checklist (LCL), Contract Technical Data (CDT) and T-2 Modification Work Cards), Self-Inspection Program, Aircraft structural Integrity Program.
- Will review engineering disposition request for non-standard aircraft and equipment repairs to ensure necessity, accuracy, and completeness prior to submittal.
