Responsibilities of Position: Responsibilities of HR-03-411 in addition to the following: Troubleshoot, repair, test, and maintain plant utilities systems, electrical, compressed air, steam, HVAC, water cooling systems, propane/natural gas, and overhead cranes Perform all aspects of metal fabrication: MIG, TIG, and Stick welding, use of Plasma Arc, aceytelene torch, drill press, band saw, and cut off saw; thread pipe, including use of threading and tapping tools; use precision tools such as micromenters and dial calipers; operate surface mill and lathe, to include fabrication of small repair components. Maintain and install basic instrumentation: Maintain and repair all process and production-specific equipment related to all Carbon plant or Wheels and Brakes operations Use DCS & PLC components, microprocessor systems for troubleshooting equipment failures Research parts and components for purchasing requirements Perform other related duties as required Physical/Environmental Scope of Position: work in/near electro-magnetic fields created by high temperature induction furnaces subjected to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme heat and cold, atmospheric conditions, noise, vibration, oils, and other related industrial hazards work in confined spaces and wear a respirator vocal communication, hearing, and visual acuity are required for safety, direction, and the exchange of ideas in the industrial environment will be exposed to and handle hazardous wastes Must demonstrate the physical capacity to meet the demands of the "Heavy" Job Placement Assessment (JPA) as administered by St. Elizabeth Business Health Services Required Behavioral Dimensions: Adaptability Continuous Learning Safety Awareness Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills Tenacity Work Standards
Experience/Education/Certification Required: Associate Degree in industrial electricity/electronics or verifiable equivalent experience Minimum of five years experience in an industrial environment Experience with PLC and DCS control systems and troubleshooting microprocessor based systems Experience in using electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics Experience with CNC machine maintenance and operation Experience in welding, cutting, and fabrication a plus Additional education, experience, and/or military experience will be considered in the event that an applicant does not meet one or more of the above requirements
