  • Job Purpose:** Inspects test equipment for proper manufacturing,

repair, testing, and certification of all test equipment in use by

performing the following duties. Works under supervision of Quality

Manager.

  • Essential Functions** include the following. Other duties may be

assigned.

  • Maintains proper files, card index and paperwork on each piece of

test equipment with information to include date of certification,

duration of the certificate, and date for recertification.

  • Organizes the test equipment that cannot be certified in house to be

sent to an authorized source for calibration and certification.

  • Maintains all standards used in the Metrology Lab to be calibrated

and certified to National Institutes of Standards and Technology

standards by maintaining accurate records along with the history of

the equipment.

  • Reviews specifications and identifies equipment equivalencies that

can be purchased.

  • Builds and designs test equipment as per specifications.
  • Compiles monthly reports of test equipment to be calibrated and

performs work needed in a timely manner.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three

years previous electronics experience; or equivalent combination of

training, and experience. One to three years of mechanical

Experience/knowledge Also Is Preferred.

Ability to apply basic math, including adding, subtracting, multiplying,

and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common

fractions, and decimals.

Ability to communicate verbally in one-on-one situations with management

and co-workers, including the ability to speak simple sentences; listens

to others without interrupting and gets clarification when needed.

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, work orders, and memos.

Ability to read and understand blue prints and equipment manuals.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple

instructions and procedures furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in

standardized situations. Ability to perform repetitive tasks.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be familiar with

a diverse range of measurement tools and equipment. Standards and

reference tools can include handheld manual gauges such as calipers,

micrometers, dial gages, Go/No-Go gages, gage blocks, height gages,

feeler gages, etc. to electrical measurement equipment such as

multimeters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, function generators,

hipot testers, megohmmeters, milliohm meters, multifunction calibrators,

digital weight scales, force gages, power supplies, etc. along with

several types of pneumatic gages for pressure and vacuum measurement.

These tools ensure that manufactured parts meet precise design

specifications and maintain global standards of accuracy.

and maintain strong working relationships with co-workers and

supervisors.

Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.

Exhibits dependability, including following instructions; responding to

supervisors direction; and taking responsibility for own actions.

Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help when

needed; performs work independently without being prompted.

Ability to prioritize and plan work activities; use time efficiently;

and work within deadlines.
