Summary:
This position is responsible for completing inspection of products to ensure that all shipments comply with the customer’s conformity specification, the company’s quality control systems, and legal requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect product to determine compliance with order specifications and company’s quality control system for compliance with legal requirements, and shipping and packing facilities for conformity to specified standards
- Setup and perform conventional surface plate inspection
- Document inspection results accurately and in a timely manner
- Communicate inspection results and status to Manufacturing and Engineering as applicable
- Generate ideas and suggestions on reducing inspection turnaround time
- Perform Hardness and Conductivity inspections
- Examine company’s records to secure such information as size and weight of product and results of quality tests
- Complete visual inspection
- Verify machine finish
- Stamp mark of approval or rejection on product and write report of examinations.
Minimum Requirements:

- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 2 years of manufacturing or quality experience preferred
- Industry experience preferred
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident required (ITAR compliance)
- Blueprint and specification interpretation competence required
- Experience with mechanical and configuration hardware such as fasteners, brackets, wire forms, seals, connectors, required
- Mechanical inspection skills including use of calipers, micrometers, optical comparator, thread gauges, and Hardness tester etc.required
- Ability to perform vendor test, material and conformance certification package reviews required
- Experience with First Article & Layout Inspection preferred
- Experience with Surface Plate Inspection preferred
- Basic computer skills including spreadsheets, word processing, internet research, and e-mail required
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with little supervision required
- Sense of urgency required
- Ability to meet frequent short timeline goals and deadlines required
