What You'll Do


As our Quality Engineer, you'll serve as a key partner to Engineering, Procurement, and Manufacturing to improve product quality, strengthen supplier performance, and drive continuous improvement throughout the organization.


This is a highly visible, hands-on role where you'll spend time both on the manufacturing floor and working directly with suppliers to solve real-world challenges.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and maintain quality assurance plans, inspection methods, and quality standards
  • Lead supplier qualification, onboarding, audits, and ongoing performance evaluations
  • Investigate product quality issues, supplier concerns, and nonconforming materials
  • Perform root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, FMEA, and other structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions that deliver lasting improvements
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics including PPM, delivery performance, and quality trends
  • Support new product launches through PPAPs, First Article Inspections, and APQP activities
  • Manage supplier scorecards, inspection documentation, audit reports, and quality records
  • Partner cross-functionally to reduce defects, improve processes, and enhance overall product reliability
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits
What We're Looking For


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline
  • Three or more years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or supplier development
  • Working knowledge of quality tools including:
  • 8D
  • FMEA
  • PPAP
  • APQP
  • SPC
  • MSA
  • Experience conducting supplier audits and driving supplier improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management software


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP or MRP systems
  • Manufacturing experience involving aluminum fabrication, cast components, or truck and trailer products

Physical Requirements


  • Ability to move throughout a manufacturing facility, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and kneeling
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
  • Comfortable working in a production environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
  • Ability to travel occasionally to supplier locations as business needs require
