PURPOSE AND SCOPE

We are seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician to join our production team. This role is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining manufacturing equipment, supporting robotic welding operations, and ensuring product quality.

This position plays a critical role in improving efficiency, safety, and overall production performance. The ideal candidate brings strong technical aptitude, hands-on manufacturing experience, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Functions

  • Optimize production flow
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment
  • Support robotic welding operations
  • Diagnose assembly issues
  • Utilize root cause analysis to solve production problems
  • Participate in Gemba production walks

Responsibilities:

Production & Assembly

  • Set up and operate machinery by positioning parts, loading materials, and entering specifications
  • Perform manufacturing and assembly tasks, including fabrication and welding of fabrics
  • Safely start, operate, and shut down production equipment

Quality Control

  • Conduct inspections to ensure product functionality and appearance meet standards
  • Identify defects and ensure compliance with customer specifications

Equipment Maintenance

  • Identify and prioritize equipment maintenance needs
  • Assist the maintenance department with preventative maintenance activities
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and escalate major issues as needed

Process Improvement

  • Monitor and adjust machine settings to improve efficiency
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S)

Documentation & Compliance

  • Follow all SOPs, safety policies, and OSHA regulations

Team Collaboration

  • Train and mentor new employees
  • Partner with engineering, quality, and other teams to meet production goals

Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate’s degree in manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred

Experience

  • 3–5 years of manufacturing or production experience required
  • Experience with fabrication, welding, and assembly (especially fabric welding) strongly preferred

Technical Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Proficiency with measurement tools and metrology equipment
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent organization and time management
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

Certifications (Preferred)

  • MSSC Certified Production Technician or similar industry certifications

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (8 hours per shift)
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs
  • Work involves bending, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive motions
  • Manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
  • Required use of PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection

Other duties as assigned.

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
