Key Responsibilities
- Lead and negotiate complex real estate finance transactions, including loan structuring and documentation
- Provide legal support across the full lifecycle of multifamily lending deals
- Partner with internal stakeholders to evaluate, structure, and execute financing transactions
- Manage a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment (often 150 annually)
- Collaborate with lenders, borrowers, and external counsel on transaction execution
- Advise on legal risk, deal structure, and financing strategy
- Support new initiatives, products, and evolving structures within the real estate finance platform
- Work cross-functionally with legal, finance, and operations teams
Qualifications
- J.D. required, active bar membership in good standing
- 8–12 years of experience in commercial real estate finance or transactional real estate law
- Deep commercial real estate finance experience required
- Strong background in loan transactions, lending, or structured finance
- Experience negotiating complex real estate deals in a law firm, financial institution, or development environment
- Ability to operate in a high-volume, fast-paced transactional setting
- Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with business stakeholders
- Multifamily, affordable housing, or agency lending experience is a plus
