Position Summary:
The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain function, including procurement, material management, supplier management, and production planning. This leader will drive strategic initiatives that improve operational efficiency, reduce risk, strengthen supplier relationships, and ensure reliable, cost-effective delivery of products and services. The role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills who can collaborate across departments to support the company’s growth and operational excellence objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy aligned with company goals.
- Lead and mentor Supply Chain team members across procurement, planning and inventory.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve operational performance and cost efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, process optimization, and system enhancements.
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Negotiate long-term agreements and manage risk through supplier diversification and performance monitoring.
- Conduct sourcing activities, RFPs/RFQs, and cost-reduction initiatives.
Planning & Inventory Management
- Oversee demand forecasting, production planning, and capacity management.
- Optimize inventory levels to balance working capital, demand variability, and service levels.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory data through cycle counts, audits, and ERP utilization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Sales, and Quality to support product development, cost modeling, and operational forecasting.
- Support new product launches by aligning supply chain capabilities with business needs.
- Provide executive leadership updates on supply chain performance, risks, and opportunities.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including geopolitical, quality, cyber, and capacity-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer standards, and internal policies.
- Maintain strong understanding of global market trends affecting supply chain dynamics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong understanding of aerospace supply chain principles, manufacturing processes, procurement best practices and government contracting (especially DLA, DIBBS, cFolders, etc.).
- Proven experience managing suppliers, vendors, and fulfillment timelines under tight regulatory and quality constraints.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams and managing change in fast paced environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and digital document control platforms (e.g., SharePoint).
Preferred:
- Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO9001 quality systems.
- Knowledge of government FAR/DFARS clauses and post-award procedures.
- Experience with technical drawings, specs, tolerances, and aerospace materials.
- Ability to travel (primarily domestic)

Salary : $90,000 - $125,000
