Job Description:
Tittle: Maintenance Technician
Location: Athens, GA (Onsite)
Contract Duration: 10 months
Schedule: full-time, 2nd shift position working Monday through Friday from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM & 40 hours per week.
Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician II plays a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing and utility systems that support pharmaceutical operations. This position is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, system performance, and compliance with GMP and EHS requirements.
The successful candidate will work independently while supporting various facility and utility systems, including clean utilities, HVAC systems, power plant operations, and water purification systems.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities on manufacturing and utility equipment.
- Independently troubleshoot and repair facility systems and equipment.
- Ensure equipment uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and utility system issues and implement appropriate solutions.
Utility Systems Support
- Maintain and support critical facility systems, including:
- Boilers and plant steam systems
- Compressed air systems
- Centrifugal chillers and cooling towers
- Process chilled water systems
- Reverse Osmosis/Deionized Water (RO/DI) systems
- High Purity Water (HPW) systems
- Clean steam systems
- Generators and electrical systems
- Cleanroom HVAC systems
Compliance & Safety
- Follow established GMP, company, and regulatory requirements.
- Comply with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) standards and procedures.
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records.
- Support inspection readiness and compliance initiatives.
Team Collaboration
- Communicate maintenance issues, project updates, and equipment concerns effectively.
- Work collaboratively with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability.
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
OR
- Associate’s degree or Technical Degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
