School Registered Nurse (RN) – Float
Pay: $35 - $38 per hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a flexible and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide nursing coverage across school locations as needed. The Float RN will support school health offices and may provide 1:1 nursing care for students with individualized medical needs. Assigned locations and schedules will be determined by Health Services based on student and district needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing coverage at assigned schools, adapting to different locations and student populations.
- Support daily school health office operations, including assessing student health concerns, administering medications and treatments, and responding to injuries or illnesses.
- Provide 1:1 nursing support for students as assigned, following individualized healthcare plans and provider orders.
- Monitor students with chronic conditions or complex medical needs and communicate changes to appropriate school personnel and families.
- Respond to medical emergencies and follow established school emergency procedures.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential health records.
- Collaborate with Health Services, school staff, families, and healthcare providers to support student safety and participation in school.
- Follow district policies, infection prevention practices, and applicable nursing standards.
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license valid in the state of assignment.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- School nursing, pediatric, or relevant clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Strong assessment, communication, organization, and clinical judgment skills.
- Ability to work independently and adjust to changing assignments.
- Willingness and ability to travel between assigned school locations.
- Ability to meet district onboarding and background screening requirements.
Schedule and Assignments
Schedules, school locations, and coverage assignments will be determined by Health Services. Assignments may include school health office coverage and potential 1:1 student care, and may change based on coverage needs.
