We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager with a strong background in plastics manufacturing and resin purchasing to lead our end-to-end supply chain operations. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable material flow, developing procurement strategies for resins and additives, optimizing supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement across planning, purchasing, logistics, and inventory functions.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for plastic resins, colorants, additives, and related raw materials.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with domestic and international resin suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and reliable supply.
- Monitor market trends, pricing indices, and geopolitical factors affecting resin availability and cost.
- Perform supplier audits and manage ongoing supplier performance metrics (OTIF, quality, lead times, risk).
Supply Chain Operations
- Oversee material planning, production scheduling, inventory management, and distribution for multiple manufacturing lines.
- Build forecasts and production plans aligned with sales, customer demand, and capacity constraints.
- Implement inventory optimization strategies to balance cost, working capital, and service levels.
- Coordinate logistics for inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Sales to support new product launches, manage changes in material formulations, and improve overall supply chain performance.
- Lead problem-solving activities related to supply disruptions, quality issues, or material shortages.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Drive process improvements using lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Maintain compliance with environmental, sustainability, and safety regulations related to resin storage, handling, and transportation.
- Use ERP/MRP systems to maintain accurate master data, inventory records, and procurement workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
- 5 years of supply chain experience in plastics manufacturing, resin purchasing, or polymer-related industries.
- Strong knowledge of resin markets (PE, PP, PET, PVC, engineering resins, etc.) and associated supply chain dynamics.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and strong data analysis skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor-management abilities.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and continuous improvement initiatives.
