Emissions Test Engineer
Location: Arden, NC
Pay: 135k-150k
We are partnering with an advanced R&D facility focused on developing next-generation engine and emissions technologies. This is a product development-focused role, where you will be responsible for testing and validating products to ensure they meet emissions regulations and performance standards.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Perform product testing to validate emissions performance and compliance
• Operate and maintain emissions measurement systems (FTIR, FID, NDIR, PM, etc.)
• Conduct testing across multiple platforms including:
• Gas stand thermodynamic and functional testing
• Engine stand testing
• Electric machine and power electronics testing
• Noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) testing
• Develop and execute test procedures to support product development
• Analyze data and ensure accuracy, repeatability, and compliance
• Troubleshoot equipment and support root cause analysis
• Work closely with engineering teams to support product validation
What They’re Looking For:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or related field (required)
• 5 years of hands-on emissions testing experience
• Strong experience working in a lab or test environment
• Experience operating emissions measurement and testing systems
• Up-to-date knowledge of emissions regulations (EPA, CARB, etc.)
• Strong understanding of calibration, testing methods, and data integrity
Nice to Have:
• Experience in R&D or product development environments
• Familiarity with CAN, Modbus, or similar communication protocols
• Background in advanced testing (engine, power electronics, NVH, etc.)
