Overview
A leading industrial manufacturer is seeking an Electrical / Controls Design Engineer to support the design and development of control systems and electrical layouts for engineered equipment. This role is heavily focused on the electrical design side, with exposure to automation, communication protocols, and technical documentation.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 3–5 years of experience who enjoys working in a design-focused, project-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop control panels, electrical layouts, and system schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
- Interpret project specifications and translate them into detailed electrical designs and drawings
- Support the development of control systems based on customer and project requirements
- Work with engineering and project teams to ensure designs meet scope, performance, and timeline expectations
- Assist with technical documentation, including work instructions and engineering documentation
- Review and update drawings to ensure compliance with internal standards and project requirements
- Support communication and coordination across engineering, sales, and operations teams
- Contribute to design reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in electrical design / controls design within a manufacturing or OEM environment
- Strong experience with AutoCAD Electrical (required)
- Experience designing control panels and electrical layouts
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings
- Exposure to industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, etc.)
- Experience with technical writing (work instructions, documentation, etc.)
Preferred Experience
- Experience with PLC programming or control logic (not required)
- Background working in or designing for hazardous environments / hazardous locations
- Familiarity with industry standards (NEC, NFPA, IEC, etc.)
- Experience supporting OEM equipment or engineered-to-order systems
Work Environment
- Fully onsite role within a large-scale industrial/manufacturing facility
- Exposure to equipment, electrical systems, and production environments
- Collaborative, team-oriented engineering environment
Salary : $100,000 - $117,000
