Overview
Growing precision machine shop supporting the aerospace, defense, and industrial sectors. As we continue to expand under new ownership, we are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer to bridge the gap between engineering and the shop floor.
This is a highly technical, floor-focused role responsible for taking new parts from programming through full setup and proven production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-efficiency, multi-channel programs using PartMaker for Star Swiss machines
- Optimize synchronization and wait codes to maximize throughput and minimize cycle time
- Lead full setup and prove-out of new parts, including tooling, guide bushing alignment, and machine setup
- Ensure process stability, predictable tool life, and optimized cycle times prior to production handoff
- Select and implement tooling and high-pressure coolant strategies for optimal performance
- Troubleshoot machining issues including offsets, chatter, and process inconsistencies
- Support and mentor setup personnel as the on-the-floor technical expert
Qualifications
Required:
- 7 years of CNC machining experience, including 3 years in a Manufacturing Engineer role
- Strong proficiency with PartMaker (Autodesk)
- Hands-on experience with Star Swiss machines (SR, SB, SV series)
- Experience setting up and programming Takisawa (Fanuc) and Haas (ST-series) lathes
- Deep understanding of Fanuc and Haas controls
- Ability to read complex blueprints and hold tight tolerances
- Ability to edit G-code and develop macros as needed
Preferred:
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
- Background in training or mentoring shop personnel
