Engineering Manager

Take ownership of an engineering function, learn a highly specialized product from the ground up, and grow into leading the R&D function that designs it.

Roles like this with a built in progression path don't come up too often! A specialist defense contractor in the Haverhill area is looking for an engineering manager to eventually take over the running of their entire R&D function.

At first you'll learn about the product in the testing team - you'll oversee the test team, learning about the standards, the testing processes, and the technical detail that underpins the product, led by a vastly experienced director who knows the product inside out. With that foundation, you'll then move into a broader engineering role, taking an R&D leadership role and overseeing both teams.

There's genuine management responsibilities from day one - you'll have a team to develop and support, whilst also getting involved with budgets, programme priorities, and customer/supplier management.

The base salary for this role is in the region of $160k - $170k, with comprehensive health coverage and 401(k) on top.

What you'll be doing

• Taking ownership of a busy test and R&D function, based around RF technology
• Building an expert knowledge of the product and its associated test and certification standards
• Develop your team and support them to deliver projects to customers
• Lead the day to day operations of the team

What you'll need

• A background in leading product development teams
• RF experience - ideally a mix of design and test
• The ability to manage multiple teams and programs
• A strong technical background
• Eligibility for US security clearance
