Aedas Seattle is seeking an Interior Designer (5 Years of Experience) for the interior design of commercial, institutional, and workplace projects.
This role is tailored for an energetic, autonomous designer with a strong conceptual foundation and a solid technical ability. You will take ownership of interior environments from early space planning and narrative development through detailing, material specification, furniture selection, and construction administration, working within a close-knit, highly collaborative team that values an earnest and vibrant studio culture.
Responsibilities:
- Foster a collaborative working relationship across the project team, clients, and consultants
- Develop strong conceptual design narratives and space plans that align with client goals. Translate project concepts into cohesive interior architectural solutions through diagrams, sketches, and digital visualizations
- Participate directly in client meetings and workshops, presenting design concepts clearly and managing client feedback
- Manage working time toward project deadlines and deliverables
- Ensure clear, consistent communication across all project stakeholders
- Maintain quality control and ensure project documentation meets firm standards
- Support marketing and business development efforts, including proposal development and client presentations
Qualifications:
- 5 years of professional interior design or interior architecture experience, with a proven portfolio focused on commercial workplace, corporate, or institutional environments
- Professional degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture (CIDA-accredited preferred). NCIDQ certification, LEED AP, or WELL accreditation are highly desirable
- Solid understanding of building codes, ADA accessibility guidelines, and sustainable interior standards
- Ability to build strong relationships and effectively contribute to project teams
- Strong organizational skills and thorough understanding of design and construction processes
- Advanced knowledge of materials and furniture, with deep connections to the design trade community
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently
- Proficiency in AutoDesk software, particularly Revit, required
- Fluency in English, spoken and written
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Aedas Seattle does not offer visa sponsorship for this position.
