Interior Architect / Project Architect

Aedas
Seattle, WA Full Time
POSTED ON 8/1/2026

Aedas Seattle is seeking an Interior Architect / Project Architect (5 Years of Experience) to lead the design, technical resolution, and delivery of commercial, institutional, and creative workplace environments.

This role requires a technically rigorous, design-forward professional who approaches interior spaces through the lens of architecture. You will bridge the gap between high-level interior concepts and complex building systems, taking ownership of interior construction documentation, consultant coordination, and detailing. This position is ideal for an autonomous architect who thrives in a highly collaborative studio and wants to drive sophisticated, high-performance interior environments within an earnest and vibrant culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster collaborative working relationships with the project team, including clients and consultants
  • Manage time toward project deadlines and deliverables
  • Ensure clear, consistent communication with project stakeholders
  • Generate and assemble document sets including design, permit, and construction documents
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for consultants
  • Ensure all interior environments strictly comply with building codes, egress requirements, life-safety standards, and ADA/accessibility guidelines
  • Maintain quality control and ensure project documentation meets firm standards
  • Manage projects through construction administration, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, conducting site visits, and partnering with contractors to maintain design integrity in the field
  • Participate actively in internal design reviews, share technical expertise with the wider team, and mentor junior design staff within our close-knit Seattle studio
  • Support marketing and business development efforts, including proposal development and client presentations

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of professional architecture experience in commercial or institutional projects
  • Experience with laboratory and/or creative workplace design highly desired
  • Knowledge of the Seattle building code and experience with local permitting process
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and positively contribute to project teams
  • Strong organizational skills and thorough understanding of design and construction processes
  • Advanced knowledge of sustainable design practices and project delivery
  • Ability to work on multiple complex projects concurrently
  • Proficiency in AutoDesk software, particularly Revit, required
  • Digital visualization and graphics skills (Rhino, Grasshopper, Photoshop, vRay, Enscape, etc.) a plus
  • Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch). Architectural licensure (or actively pursuing) is required. LEED, WELL, or similar sustainable accreditation is highly valued
  • Fluency in English, spoken and written
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Aedas Seattle does not offer visa sponsorship for this position.
