What are the responsibilities and job description for the Antitrust Associate, Counsel or Sr. Counsel position at Advocates Legal Recruiting?
Antitrust Associate to Senior Counsel | Washington, D.C. Preferred
Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, LA, New York, Philadelphia or San Francisco locations will be considered
A leading firm in this space is hiring an antitrust lawyer who wants serious merger control work, not the occasional antitrust assignment. This role is designed for attorneys with at least 3 - 15 years of relevant antitrust experience, with title and level determined based on background, including candidates who may be best suited for an Associate, Counsel, or Senior Counsel position.
This is a confidential search for our AmLaw 100 client. The practice handles major U.S. and cross-border transactions, merger reviews, and agency investigations, with some related litigation support.
Role Summary
You would focus on antitrust merger review, merger-related investigations, and HSR analysis and filings. The work includes advising on complex transactions, managing regulatory process issues, and working closely with competition authorities in the U.S. and abroad. The title can land at the associate, counsel, or senior counsel level depending on experience.
Candidate Profile
You should have 3 - 15 years of relevant antitrust experience from a comparable law firm or government role. Strong candidates will have hands-on exposure to merger review and the HSR process, along with the judgment to work through sophisticated deal timelines and agency-facing strategy. Strong academic credentials are expected.
Why This Role
This seat is built for someone who wants a stronger platform and steadier flow of high-level merger work. Our client has real depth in Washington, a broad cross-border antitrust reach, and a practice that works closely with former government talent, economists, and policy-facing lawyers. You would step into sophisticated matters, learn from a respected bench, and join a firm that has made a visible investment in lawyer training, coaching, and career development. Washington, D.C. is preferred, though candidates in other U.S. offices will be considered. A sign-on bonus may also be on the table for the right hire.
