Head of Finance – Series B SaaS Startup – NYC
A venture-backed SaaS startup is seeking their first in-house finance hire to drive a combination of fp&a, strategic finance and capital markets initiatives. The role will report directly to the executive team with extensive exposure to both internal and external stakeholders, playing a critical role in the continued growth and expansion of the company.
The company is in an exceptional financial position, having achieved consistent YoY revenue growth of over 100% while also recently securing a substantial funding round from a collection of top-tier venture capital investors. Given that projected growth and rapid adoption of their AI technology across various industry sectors, the Head of Finance should have significant experience scaling the finance function at an early stage startup, ideally within a B2B SaaS environment.
Office Setup: full-time onsite in NYC office
Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility for FP&A and strategic financial planning while acting as a strategic advisor to all business leaders
- Sustain growth via strategic finance, providing analytical insight, pricing analysis, product-road mapping, user acquisition, and revenue maximization through capital allocation
- Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and reports to provide comprehensive analytics and transparency throughout the organization
- Lead due diligence, modeling, and related analysis leading up to investor meetings and future capital raises
- Prepare and present information for quarterly meetings with the Board and investors
- Develop financial models to assess M&A opportunities and conduct/coordinate financial diligence of potential transactions
Requirements:
- 7 years of fp&a and strategic finance experience, ideally with a foundation in investment banking or consulting
- Experience driving the development and growth of a finance function at a venture-backed startup
- Significant exposure to the capital raising process, preferably within the VC community
- Proficient in working with all financial statements, forecasting, and budget planning
- Strong proficiency in working cross-departmentally and assisting with all areas across an organization
Salary: $200,000-$265,000 Equity
