Director, Tax(HNW Tax) - (Hybrid) Family Office, Midtown - $600k-$800k all-in pkg
A global ultra-high net worth Family Office is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Manager / VP – High Net Worth Tax professional to oversee all tax-related matters for a sophisticated HNW family. This is a highly visible, client-facing role requiring strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be an expert in HNW tax planning, compliance, and advisory, with a background in either a Big 4 or Big 10 firm or a HNW Family Office.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all tax planning, research, and compliance for a complex HNW family structure, including individual, partnership (complex flow-through), estate, foundations, and trusts.
- Provide strategic tax planning, including estate planning, next-generation wealth transfer, risk assessments, acquisitions/dispositions, and financing asset purchases.
- Review of complex and high-volume tax returns prepared by outside CPA firm ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage quarterly tax projections and tax compliance requirements.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and external advisors to optimize tax strategies and planning.
- Participate in special projects related to family wealth management and estate transitions.
- Supervise and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Engage directly with HNW clients, delivering insights and recommendations in a professional and client-centric manner.
Qualifications:
- 15 years of HNW tax experience from a Big 4, Big 10 firm, or HNW Family Office or similar type experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or Master’s in Taxation or JD, preferred. Strong expertise in HNW individual tax, partnership taxation (complex flow-through), estates, foundations, and trusts.
- Proven experience in tax projections, planning, research, and compliance.
- Exceptional client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to present complex tax matters clearly.
- Strong leadership abilities with a team-oriented and collaborative approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and special projects in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation: $600k-$800k all in package and excellent benefits and perks including, 401k with company match and profit-sharing plan
