Advent Talent Group is hiring an Inside Sales & Purchasing Specialist for a well-established building materials supplier in South St. Paul, MN. For over 60 years, this company has delivered apartment maintenance solutions across Minnesota and proudly partners with more than 50 vendors.
As the organization enters an exciting growth phase, they are seeking a detail-oriented professional to streamline order flow, enhance customer responsiveness, and provide critical support to account managers. This role serves as the backbone of inside sales operations—ensuring smooth processes and enabling senior staff to focus on technical and project-based work
Overview
Location: South Saint Paul, MN (On-site)
Compensation: $26.44 - $31.25/hour

Responsibilities
Order Management & Customer Support
- Prepare bids, quotes, and order packages to support account managers
- Answer incoming calls professionally and assist customers with inquiries
- Provide product information, pricing checks, and order status updates
- Execute detailed, multi-step order entry workflows with precision
- Ensure timely completion of daily orders as sales volume grows
Purchasing Coordination
- Assist in preparing purchase orders and coordinating with vendors
- Track orders and resolve vendor-related issues
Sales Development
- Participate in customer outreach during the first year to help generate new business
- Re-engage past customers and warm up leads for account managers
- Develop communication and sales skills for light outreach and customer engagement
Team Collaboration
- Occasionally assist with small deliveries or simple customer visits as part of a collaborative team environment
- Provide coverage to ensure customers are never dependent on a single team member
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in inside sales, customer service, purchasing, or order coordination
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-step processes with accuracy and attention to detail
- Exceptional phone communication and customer service skills, with a professional and friendly demeanor
- Quick learner with strong technical aptitude, comfortable understanding product specifications (plumbing, HVAC, etc.)
- Highly organized and dependable, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with order entry systems, vendor coordination, and workflow management
- Preferred: Familiarity with construction, maintenance, or multi-housing industries
