Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software supporting fiber-optic communication systems, with awareness of optical and physical layer behavior
- Translate system requirements into scalable, reusable, and maintainable software solutions
- Develop and support secure software services, including RESTful APIs and OpenConfig interfaces, used in network operations
- Build and execute automated unit and integration tests to ensure reliability, performance, and security
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities
- Support system operations through software simulation and correlation with physical system performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, systems, and network engineering teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related STEM field
- Should have at least 3 years of experience
- Strong understanding of fiber-optic communication systems, including optical components and system-level behavior
- Proficiency in C , C#, SQL, and modern web technologies (e.g., React)
- Experience with Linux-based environments (Red Hat preferred)
- Familiarity with REST APIs, OpenConfig/OpenAPI, and secure software development practices
- Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design
- Experience with automated testing and version control systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative engineering environment
Preferred Background / Industry Experience
