Software Engineering Lead

Advantage Technical is partnering with an innovative aerospace organization seeking a Software Engineering Lead to drive the development of mission-critical software and networking systems.
This is an opportunity to lead a talented engineering team while remaining hands-on with software architecture and technical decision-making. You'll help shape the direction of complex systems that support real-world operational missions from concept through deployment.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead a team of software and network engineers through the full development lifecycle
- Drive software architecture and technical design decisions
- Oversee systems integration, verification, testing, and deployment
- Partner with Program Management, Systems Engineering, and Test Engineering to deliver high-quality solutions
- Support project planning, technical reviews (PDR/CDR), customer engagements, and proposal efforts
- Help define the long-term technical strategy for future products and capabilities
We're Looking For:
- 10 years of software engineering experience
- Previous technical leadership or engineering management experience
- Strong background in software architecture and distributed systems
- Experience with systems integration and software verification/testing
- Excellent communication and customer-facing technical leadership skills
Highly Desired Experience:
- Aerospace, defense, or other regulated industries
- Mission-critical or real-time systems
- Network infrastructure and communications systems
- Formal engineering design reviews (PDR/CDR)
- Requirements development and technical documentation
