Junior Preconstruction Project Manager

Advanced Window, Inc. is seeking a Junior Preconstruction Project Manager to join our team in Frederick, Maryland. This is an opportunity to develop your construction project management skills while supporting commercial glazing and building envelope projects from contract award through turnover to construction teams.

Advanced Window, Inc. is a commercial window contractor specializing in the sales, consultation, design, and installation of pre-glazed window systems, curtain wall, storefront, and metal panel products for commercial projects throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Pre-Construction, you will support project planning, coordination, and documentation during the preconstruction phase. You will work closely with Estimating, Drafting, Project Management, vendors, and customers to ensure projects are organized and prepared for successful execution.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate preconstruction activities for assigned projects from contract award through project turnover.
• Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and related documents to understand project requirements and identify missing information.
• Develop and maintain preconstruction schedules, track progress, and communicate upcoming deadlines.
• Prepare, submit, and track submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Coordinate shop drawing development with the drafting team and facilitate review and approval.
• Review and distribute project revisions, including ASIs, bulletins, and addenda.
• Help identify and resolve project risks, issues, and scope changes.
• Coordinate with internal teams to evaluate scope changes and support change order requests.
• Assist with procurement planning, material releases, and related preconstruction activities.
• Communicate with customers, consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate project records, logs, and documentation.
• Prepare turnover documentation and support the transition to Project Managers and construction teams.
• Contribute to improvements in preconstruction processes and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in preconstruction, construction project coordination, project administration, submittal management, or a related role preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Familiarity with submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, project schedules, and construction workflows.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Familiarity with construction software such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, Adobe Acrobat, or similar platforms.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with others, and adapt to changing project needs.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with commercial glazing, storefront, curtain wall, window systems, metal panels, or related building envelope products.
• Experience with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software.
• Knowledge of unitized curtain wall, door hardware, louvers, specialty glazing, or interior glass systems.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary range: $55,000–$75,000, based on experience and qualifications.
