Join our growing dental team as a Dental Hygienist working exclusively on Fridays In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by performing thorough dental cleanings, assessments, and education while ensuring the highest standards of infection control and safety. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, tailored to pediatric and general dentistry patients.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current medications to ensure safe treatment plans.
- Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Take and interpret medical images such as X-rays while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and managing medical records securely.
Position Details
- Schedule: Fridays only ( alternating)
- Hours: [8:30 AM – 3:30 PM]
- Employment Type: Part-time (1 day/week)
Qualifications
- Active state dental hygiene license
- CPR/BLS certification
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist in a busy dental clinic or office setting
- Familiarity with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review processes.
- Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, anatomy, and medical imaging procedures.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical terminology related to general dentistry and pediatric dentistry.
- Previous experience performing chairside assisting tasks and patient care in a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
