Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking a Cutting & Sewing Supervisor for a new opening with our client in the High Point area. The Cutting & Sewing Supervisor oversees all cutting and sewing operations within the upholstery department. This role ensures efficient production, maintains high-quality standards, and meets production schedules while leading and developing a skilled team. The supervisor partners closely with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to optimize workflow and material utilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily cutting and sewing operations to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Lead, train, and develop team members to enhance performance and skill levels.
- Ensure proper handling, cutting, and processing of fabrics, leather, and other materials.
- Optimize material usage to reduce waste and improve yield.
- Monitor production efficiency and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Product Development and Engineering on new product introductions.
- Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure adherence to maintenance schedules.
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate with Inventory and Supply Chain teams to ensure material availability.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including efficiency, scrap, rework, and on-time delivery.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in upholstery, cutting, or sewing operations.
- 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of textiles, leather, and pattern cutting.
- Experience with manual and automated cutting systems preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and patterns.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in high-end or custom furniture manufacturing preferred.
