Full-time Recreation Aid

Advanced Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is actively seeking a Recreation Aid to work full-time for our Skilled Nursing Facility located in New Haven CT. The ideal candidate will have experience in a long-term healthcare setting and excellent customer service skills.

Duties:

• Plans, organizes and leads a wide variety of recreational activities/programs including, but not limited to music, arts, crafts, discussions, parties, social groups, trips, special events and entertainment, active and passive games, sensory type activities, movies, bingo, etc.
• Prepares a monthly calendar of activities that is posted in prominent areas and provided to every resident
• Ensures that all documentation requirements are met
• Develops a system to record resident participation / attendance
• Conducts regular entertainment, parties, seasonal programs and special events
• Ensures that facility is appropriately decorated as per the holiday/season
• Adheres to all facility and policies in accordance to State and Federal regulations
  
  
  

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience working with Seniors and/or in a healthcare setting a plus.
• Must be very organized and have the ability to lead others.
• Positive, outgoing, upbeat personality is a must.
• Be self-directed; have strong organizational & planning skills; ability to multi-task.
