Job Title: Nursing Scheduler / Staffing Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Nursing Scheduler is responsible for creating and maintaining nursing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage, efficient staffing, and quality patient care. This position coordinates with nurses, management, and other departments to fill shifts, manage staffing needs, and address scheduling changes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Create, update, and maintain nursing staff schedules
• Coordinate daily staffing assignments based on patient care needs and staff availability
• Communicate schedule changes, call-outs, and coverage needs
• Arrange replacement staff for open shifts
• Monitor staffing levels to ensure appropriate nurse-to-patient coverage
• Track attendance, overtime, vacation, and time-off requests
• Maintain accurate scheduling records and documentation
• Work closely with nursing leadership and administration
• Assist with onboarding and scheduling new nursing employees
• Respond to staffing issues in a timely and professional manner
• Follow facility policies, labor regulations, and staffing guidelines
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; healthcare experience preferred
• Previous scheduling, staffing, or healthcare administrative experience preferred
• Knowledge of nursing workflows and terminology preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with scheduling software and Microsoft Office preferred
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident/patient information (HIPAA)
