What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight Veterinary Triage Assistant position at Advanced Animal Care?
Overnight Triage Assistants are a key team member in day-to-day operations of the
hospital.
Overnight triage technicians are responsible for:
- Obtaining patient history
- Assisting during emergency/critical care situations
- Recording notes and vitals Smartflow
- Assisting the doctor-on-duty during the physical exam
- Aiding in animal restraint
- Collecting specimens for lab testing
- Running lab tests as directed by doctor-on-duty
- Invoicing patient procedures and appointments (out-patient)
- Cleaning exam rooms following every exam
- Creating accession forms for labs to be sent out
- Maintaining steady laundry flow
- Maintaining a clean pharmacy/ treatment/ boarding area
- Presenting treatment plans to clients (estimates)
- Continue processing/ autoclaving surgery instruments as necessary.
- Processing payments/ deposits
- Checking in and putting away inventory orders
- Walking, feeding, and medicating borders.

Requirements/Responsibilities
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will have a flexible schedule, preferably have
industry related experience (at least 1 year), and will have a minimum of a high
school diploma. The ideal candidate for this role will have availability for 8pm -8am shifts, 3 days a week. However, being open 24/7, we have several varying shift times.
Skills Required:
- Basic Animal Restraint
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly in a high-volume and fast-paced environment
- Experience within veterinary industry or similar field
Full time or part time positions available. Be willing to work overnight.
To be considered you must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work some
weekends and holidays.
