What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Veterinary Assistant position at Advanced Animal Care?
This is an opening for PART-TIME position, with potential to temporarily gain more hours this fall. The working hours will primarily be in the afternoons Mon/Tues/Friday 1pm-6pm, Thursdays 2pm-8pm. Some Saturday mornings are possible. College students are welcome to apply. Veterinary Assistants are a key team member in day-to-day operations of the clinic. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Obtaining accurate patient history * Assisting the doctor on duty during the physical exam * Aiding in animal restraint * Educating clients on basic pet care * Running lab tests as directed by doctor on duty * Helping perform radiographs * Invoicing patient procedures and appointments * Filling/ re-filling patient prescriptions as directed by doctor on duty * Cleaning exam rooms following every exam * Maintaining steady laundry flow * Maintaining a clean pharmacy area * Presenting treatment plans to clients (estimates) * Checking in and putting away inventory orders
Requirements/Responsibilities
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will have a flexible schedule, preferably have
veterinary experience, and will have a minimum of a high school diploma.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Capable of standing for extended period of time
Capable of lifting at least ~50lbs safely
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Comfortable handling phone calls, scheduling, and managing multiple tasks at once
Compassionate and professional demeanor with clients and their pets
Ability to remain calm and helpful in stressful or emotional situations
Proficiency with computers and willingness to learn veterinary software systems
Team-oriented attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed
