Kala Spring serves adults with developmental disabilities receiving crisis intervention services. The administrator will oversee the Kala Springs, administrate the programs design, manage the day to day operations and help provide support to the DSP Lead II, DSP Lead and DSP.

Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administrate the facility's program design including but not limed to
  • Assistance to residents with prescribed medications, if applicable;

 Health and emergency procedures, including fire safety;
 Identification and reporting of Special Incidents
 Identification and reporting of consumer abuse.
 Following residents' IPPs;
 Ensuring residents' rights
 Exercise knowledge of and ensure facility and employee compliance with applicable laws and regulations
 Ensure provision of the type of care and supervision needed by residents, including communication with such residents
 Must be on duty a minimum of forty (40) hours per week
 Exercise the ability to establish the facility's policy, program, and budget.
 Recruit, employ, train, and evaluate staff, terminating employment of staff if necessary
 Ensure all facility staff meet and continue to meet statutory qualifications and company policy qualifications including all continuing education requirements.
 Conduct on-site orientation process that includes the following,

 

  • The facility's program design
  • Consumer IPPs
  • Consumers' rights regulations
  • Assistance to consumers with prescribed medications, if applicable
  • Health and emergency procedures, including fire safety
  • Identification and reporting of Special Incidents
  • Identification and reporting of consumer abuse

 Ensure completion of individual behavioral supports plan, weekly review of individual behavioral supports plans and notification and inclusion of all applicable parties including the clients' rights advocate.
 Respect and maintain confidentiality regarding individuals supported and employees.
 Ensure "consumer admission" procedures are followed including behavioral and medical assessments, information compilation, services and supports assessment, prior provider consultation, family or responsible party consultation, and all other applicable consultations.

  • Facilitate IBST meetings
  • Assist in IBST fidelity
  • Maintain professionalism including appearance at all times while working.
  • Ensure creation and maintenance of facility staffing schedules with the appropriate staffing within the appropriate time frame.
  • Ensure creation of Community Crisis Home activity schedule.
  • Utilize Universal precautions at all times while on duty.
  • Ensure appropriate assistance of prescribed oral medications, nebulizers, blood pressure devices, glucose monitoring, or any other medical equipment under written direction of physician.
  • Assist individual with transfers in and out of bed, automobile, wheelchair, toilet, shower/bath, up and down stairs, and in the community.
  • Report any work-related injury or illness to Supervisor and Human Resources Director immediately.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, including special incident reports, daily case notes, payroll timesheets, and medical/financial logs.
  • Maintain a positive work environment.
  • Follow agency's internal grievance policy.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings, and other meeting requested by the individual, supervisor, stakeholders, or agency.
  • Practice good problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in the absence of a policy.
  • Communicate pertinent information to individuals (e.g. schedules, job functions, needed improvements, holidays, expectations, upcoming events, affirmations, and time/money related information).
  • Assist in development of behavior plans by providing accurate information, as needed.
  • Participate in individuals' assessments, as requested.
  • Administer CPR and/or First Aid, as needed.
  • Respond to communication (e.g. email, text, written, verbal, in person) in a timely manner.
  • Complete a minimum of 6 hours of continuing education units within the field of Applied Behavior Analysis as directed by the CEO and Clinical Director
  • Complete a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education units within each twelve- month period following the assumption of duties in the following areas,

 Resident services as described in the program design;
 Promotion of residents' rights, health, safety and social and physical integration
 The planning Team process, including development and implementation of IPPs.

Other Competencies or Skills:

  • Adult Residential Facility Administrator certification
  • Completion of Residential Services Orientation as a requirement pursuant to Title 17, Section 56033(b)
  • DSP I and DSP II
  • Registered Behavior Technician certification or
    • Psychiatric technician licensure or

 A qualified behavior modification professional

  • A minimum of three years of prior experience providing direct supervision and special services to persons with developmental disabilities
  • Knowledge of the requirements for providing the type of care and supervision needed by clients, including ability to communicate with such clients (e.g. ASL/Sign Language)
  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with applicable law and regulation
  • Ability to maintain or supervise the maintenance of financial, medical, clinical and other records
  • Ability to direct the work of others, when applicable
  • Ability to establish the facility's policy, program and budget
  • Ability to recruit, employ, train, and evaluate qualified staff, and to terminate employment of staff, if applicable to the facility
  • Ability to conduct on-site orientation process that includes the following

 The facility's program design;
 Consumer IPPs;
 Consumers' rights regulations;
 Assistance to consumers with prescribed medications, if applicable;
 Health and emergency procedures, including fire safety;
 Identification and reporting of Special Incidents
 Identification and reporting of consumer abuse

  • An Administrator must complete the Residential Services Orientation as a requirement pursuant to Section 56033(b)

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or the equivalent

Physical Demands:

Good physical health verified by a health screening, including a test for tuberculosis, performed by or under the supervision of a physician not more than one year prior to or seven days after employment or licensure.

Background Checks and/or Licensing:

Obtain a California clearance or a criminal record exemption as required by law or Department regulations or

 Request a transfer of a criminal record clearance as specified in CCR Section 80019(f) or
 Request and be approved for a transfer of a criminal record exemption, as specified in CCR Section 80019.1(r), unless, upon request for the transfer, the Department permits the individual to be employed, reside or be present at the facility.

Other Requirements:

  • 21 years of age or older
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Valid California Class C diver’s licensure in good standing and an insured, safe vehicle
  • Qualify for addition to Advance Kids dba Kala Springs vehicle insurance policy

Salary : $70,000 - $95,000
