Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in North Highlands, CA, for a Children's Group Home Administrator. Responsibilities include overseeing the daily operations of the group home, ensuring compliance with Title 19 and Title 22, and providing a safe and supportive environment for children. The administrator will collaborate with the Licensee to lead and supervise staff, manage budgets, coordinate with external agencies, and develop and implement policies to ensure the home’s smooth operation. Additionally, they will be responsible for addressing the individual needs of residents, fostering development, and creating a nurturing community.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet California Title 22 Administrator requirements, including:
Must be at least 21 years old
High school diploma or GED (minimum education requirement)
Completion of a Department-approved Administrator Certification Program
Possession of a current, valid California Administrator Certificate
Completion of required continuing education units (CEUs) to maintain certification
Must pass:
- Criminal background clearance
- Fingerprint clearance
- TB test or chest X-ray (within the last 12 months)
- Authorized to legally work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in management, supervision, and team leadership
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding child welfare and group home standards
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with external agencies and maintain positive working relationships
- Experience in budgeting, financial management, and policy development
- Compassionate demeanor and commitment to supporting children’s development and emotional well-being
- Relevant education in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (Bachelor's or equivalent work experience required; Master’s preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in residential care facility administration or a similar role
- Experience in a residential care facility or group home setting
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of behavior support plans and crisis intervention models
- Experience with staff supervision and performance management
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- CPR and First Aid certified
- Valid California driver’s license
