Job Summary 

The Shift Lead of Current Cafe assists the Manager Team in overseeing Hotel, Cafe, and Retail operations. This role is responsible for taking care of both cafe guests and Cottage guests, and ensuring a positive guest experience. Current Cafe is a fun, upbeat environment where we focus on delicious menu items, great coffee, and community. The cafe is located on the property with Boardwalk Cottages in Long Beach, WA. 

Operational Responsibilities 

• Greet guests, take orders

• Make espresso and craft cocktails 

• Maintain a clean cafe for guests

• Prep stock product 

• Wash dishes in the kitchen

• Answer phone calls to assist guests as needed

• Handle check-ins and checkouts for the Cottages

• Process laundry to help support the housekeeping team

• Complete sidework and delegated tasks to the team (roll silverware, juice fruit…)

• Understand Adrift Hospitality’s Mission, Vision and Values and ensure they are communicated and lived out by the entire Boardwalk Cottages team

• Ensure staff morale is high and that employees are taken care of

• Hold the team to a high standard of service that will create a positive, fun, and memorable experience for our guests 

• De-escalate guest issues as they arise and escalate and communicate to leadership as needed.

• Oversee daily operations when GM or AGM is not present. Enforce strong communication between departments and employees

• Identify facilities and maintenance needs and communicate to appropriate team members

Qualifications 

• 2 years of hospitality experience 

• 21 years old

• Strong leadership skills, including de-escalation and the ability to remain calm under pressure

• Ability to multitask and quickly shift from admin responsibilities to operations 

• Understanding and passion for sustainability

• Ability to work 10 hour shifts when needed 

• Maintain a valid Food Handler's Card and MAST permit
