Summary
Client is seeking an experienced Python Developer for a 7-week onsite engagement in Houston. The role requires developing analytics solutions using Python, Databricks, and statistical modeling techniques, with a focus on Monte Carlo simulations and risk-oriented data analysis. The ideal professional will convert analytical outputs into clear visualizations and communicate effectively with data analytics leads and risk management teams. Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and enhance Python-based analytics workflows within Databricks.
Build and execute Monte Carlo simulations and additional statistical models to support risk and scenario analysis.
Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) and interpret outcomes for stakeholders.
Create dashboards and visualizations to clearly present insights and analytical findings.
Collaborate with lead data analytics and risk teams to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality outputs.
Document methodologies, assumptions, and results for traceability and reproducibility.
Provide technical guidance on statistical modeling, simulation techniques, and analytical best practices.
Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards within the accelerated project timeline.
Requirements
6-9 years of hands-on, advanced-level Python development experience.
Strong expertise in Databricks, including data processing, notebooks, and workflow execution.
Solid foundation in statistics, including Monte Carlo simulation, stochastic modeling, and probability analysis.
Proficiency with data visualization tools/libraries (Matplotlib, Plotly, Seaborn, or equivalents).
Ability to build, interpret, and explain simulation models and analytical results.
Intermediate experience with AI/ML solutions (development, optimization, or integration).
Experience supporting or working within risk analytics environments.
Strong communication skills for collaboration with data analytics leadership and risk stakeholders.
Oil & Gas operations or financial/risk modeling experience is a plus.
