Position Summary:
We are seeking skilled and patient-focused Orthopedic Technologists to join a busy orthopedic clinical environment. The ideal candidates will assist orthopedic physicians and PAs with casting, splinting, rooming patients, charting, procedure preparation, and general clinical support. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced medical setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist orthopedic physicians and PAs with patient care, including casting, splinting, and maintenance of orthopedic devices (casts, splints, braces, external fixators).

Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

Prepare the physician for procedures by anticipating needs and gathering necessary supplies.

Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment and exam area.

Assist with supply stocking and room turnover between patients.

Apply orthopedic devices for patients of all ages—from infants to geriatrics—within scope of practice.

Answer and return patient phone calls within the same business day.

Obtain patient history and prepare charts as needed.

Remove sutures or staples, change dressings, and schedule diagnostic tests.

Document nurse notes, medication refills, and clinical information accurately.

Support patient flow to ensure timely care and a positive clinic experience.

Collect and prepare documentation for surgeries, orders, consents, and chart updates.

Prepare charts for clinical visits and surgical procedures, including scanning patient records.

Process DME applications when necessary.

Stay current with orthopedic equipment, tools, and techniques through continuing education.

Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Required: High School Diploma, GED, or higher-level degree (if hired after March 1, 2025)
