EMPLOYMENT STATUS:
Full-Time, Grant funded position through September 30, 2026
SUMMARY:
Manages the daily coordination of the Project Aware grant to create a sustainable infrastructure for school-based mental health programs and services. The Project Aware Coordinator will help leverage partnerships to implement mental health related promotion, awareness, prevention, intervention, and resilience activities to ensure that school-aged youth have access and are connected to appropriate and effective behavioral health services
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures that all local activities, curricula, programs, and services are consistent with SAMHSA policies and procedures and with the Project AWARE grant proposal.
- Coordinates the local fiscal management and fiscal reporting responsibilities.
- Coordinates monthly and annual data reporting requirements.
- Collaborates with administration to coordinate local activities.
- Coordinate with administration to execute meetings to discuss and implement programming, interventions or partnerships for student mental health.
- Coordinates the training, and co-trains on mental health related trainings for school personnel, families, and community adult responders.
- Facilitates project-related staff development training.
- Coordinates ongoing local communication campaign, including coordination with local mental health providers to provide services to students.
- Attends relevant meetings as needed with other identified partners as part of the MTSS (multi-tiered systems of support) program.
- Attend meetings with the IDOE as required.
- Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance and the ability to adapt to an extended / flexible work schedule.
- Possess and maintain valid and appropriate license, certificate and/ or credentials as may be required for this position.
- Follow work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable, and punctual manner.
- Participate in professional development/training classes and conferences designed to enhance knowledge and skills, as determined by supervisor.
- Review current development, literature and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.
- Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
- Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies and administrative directives.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in the field of education, mental health, substance abuse, social work, counseling, or related field required. Skills and knowledge required are written and oral communication, project management, proficient in the use of technology, detailed-oriented with excellent planning and organizational skills; training; ability to manage time with flexibility.
Related supervisory or grant experience in the field of education, mental health substance abuse, social work, counseling, or criminal/juvenile justice; related experience managing multi-agency community collaborative endeavors and grant funded projects involving school systems, public mental health agencies, the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, and families.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Possession of a valid motor vehicle driver’s license.
