Job Title: Pre-K / Early Childhood Programs Director
Reports To: Assistant Superintendent

Job Summary: Huntsville School District is seeking a passionate, visionary leader to serve as the Director of Pre-K/Early Childhood Programs. This position plays a critical role in ensuring every child enters kindergarten ready to succeed by leading high-quality early learning programs across the district, including Arkansas Better Chance School Success (ABCSS) classrooms. The Director will champion early literacy, strong instructional practices, and meaningful family partnerships while ensuring full compliance with Arkansas early childhood requirements.
Essential Duties:
- Provide leadership and oversight for all district Pre-K and early childhood programs
- Ensure compliance with DESE, ABC, and DCCECE regulations
- Promote developmentally appropriate, high-quality instruction aligned to the Arkansas Early Childhood Frameworks
- Lead classroom quality improvement using CLASS® and coaching supports
- Oversee child assessment systems and use data to drive continuous improvement
- Supervise, evaluate, and support Pre-K staff and paraprofessionals
- Coordinate ongoing professional development focused on early literacy and school readiness
- Manage program budgets, including ABC funding and applicable grants
- Strengthen family engagement and community partnerships across Madison County
- Ensure strong alignment and transition from Pre-K to Kindergarten, supporting district literacy priorities and the Right to Read Act
- Pursue and oversee the Early Childhood Local Lead grant and corresponding responsibilities for Madison County
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Educational Leadership, or related field
- Valid Arkansas Administrator License (or be enrolled in a program leading to administrative licensure within 3 years)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in early childhood education

Experience with ABC programs, CLASS®, and early childhood compliance preferred

Salary : $60,000 - $70,200
