Assigned by the Superintendent.
Position Purpose
The Centerpoint Elementary School Principal serves as the chief instructional leader
and administrator of the school. The principal is responsible for overseeing all academic
programs, staff, students, and daily operations to ensure high levels of student
achievement in alignment with Arkansas state standards and district policies.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, or related field preferred
- Valid Arkansas educator licensure, as required for the position
- Administrative licensure preferred
- Successful experience and/or knowledge in school leadership, teaching, and instruction
- Knowledge of Arkansas Academic Standards & Educational Law Requirements
- Strong skills in decision making, organization, communication, data analysis, problem-solving, and collaboration
- Ability to work effectively with teachers, administrators, students, parents, and community stakeholders
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Instructional Leadership
- Serve as the primary leader for curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Ensure alignment with Arkansas Academic Standards
- Use student data to improve teaching and learning outcomes
- Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback to teachers
2. School Management & Operations
- Oversee daily school operations, including schedules, discipline, and safety
- Manage school programs, extracurricular activities, and facilities
- Ensure a safe and orderly learning environment
- Implement emergency procedures and compliance requirements
3. Staff Supervision & Development
- Hire, supervise, and evaluate teachers and staff
- Provide ongoing professional development
- Build a collaborative, high-performing school culture
- Support teacher growth and accountability
4. Student Achievement & Support
- Promote high academic expectations and positive behavior
- Oversee intervention programs (RTI/MTSS)
- Ensure equitable opportunities for all students
- Monitor attendance, discipline, and academic progress
5. Policy Implementation & Compliance
- Enforce district policies, school board rules, and state/federal laws
- Ensure compliance with Arkansas Department of Education regulations
- Maintain accurate records and reporting systems
6. Family & Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with parents and community stakeholders
- Communicate school goals, progress, and needs
- Represent the school positively within the community
7. Budget & Resource Management
- Manage the school budget
- Allocate resources to support instructional priorities
- Oversee materials, staffing, and facility needs
