What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country Coaches - 2 Coaches position at ADL MIDDLE SCHOOL?
Essex Westford School District has two coaching opportunities at ADL for the upcoming season: one Boys’ Cross Country Coach and one Girls’ Cross Country Coach. Each position pays a seasonal stipend.
All coaches must be at least 18 years of age or a high school graduate at the commencement of the sports season for which the person has been appointed to coach. Candidates must also meet the certification and training requirements of the VPA, which requires certification in Sports First Aid and Fundamentals in Coaching within one year of hire. Acceptable certifications include ASEP (American Sport Education Program) certification or NFHS (National Federation of High Schools). The VPA also requires coaches to complete the NFHS elective courses entitled, "CONCUSSION IN SPORTS - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW." and "IMPLICIT BIAS". These are online courses that can be found at www.nfhslearn.com, and are free of charge. All coaches must complete these 20-30-minute courses before they begin coaching.
