Barstow Memorial School – Chittenden, Vermont Barstow Memorial School is seeking enthusiastic, positive, and student-centered individuals to serve as Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches for our Middle School Boys' and Girls' Soccer programs. We are looking for coaches who are passionate about developing young athletes, teaching the game of soccer, and creating a positive experience where students build skills, confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a lifelong love of athletics. Position Responsibilities
Coaches are expected to: Plan and conduct safe, organized, and engaging practices.
Teach soccer fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship, and character.
Foster a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment where every student-athlete can grow.
Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities.
Communicate regularly with families regarding schedules, expectations, and team updates.
Promote the Barstow philosophy that values participation, learning, and personal growth while encouraging healthy competition.
Work collaboratively with the Athletic Director, school staff, officials, volunteers, and families.
Maintain equipment and promptly report injuries, facility concerns, disciplinary issues, or other significant incidents.
Successful candidates will be expected to complete required background checks and coaching certifications, including NFHS training in concussion awareness and implicit bias, CPR/AED certification, and comply with all Vermont Principals' Association (VPA) policies and Barstow Memorial School coaching expectations. Schedule
Daily practices and games take place after school during the fall athletic season. Practice schedules may be adjusted in consultation with the Athletic Director to accommodate coach availability and student needs. Compensation
