Track Laborer (Full Time, Seasonal) – Reports to Maintenance of Way Supervisor
This is a job for people who like working outdoors. This position includes work on the inspection, repair, and maintenance activities of the railroad track and right of way operated by the Adirondack Railroad.
The position is responsible for:
· Repairs relating to railroad track, railroad right-of-way, culverts, and other features.
· Management of vegetation control and removal within the railroad right-of-way.
· Ensure repairs are documented and reported.
· Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and stored in an acceptable manner.
· Adhere to personal protective equipment rules.
· Comply with all federal, state and railroad regulations.
· Perform other tasks as required.
Requirements:
· Applicant must be able to pass NYS DOT drug test.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
· Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 80 pounds.
· Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods.
Experience preferred, but not required:
· Transportation Infrastructure Construction Occupations (1 year)
· Knowledge of construction methods or a related field.
· A knowledge of railroad maintenance is a definite asset.
· Experience with heavy equipment.
· Ability to identify and use appropriate tools and related equipment.

- Rate of pay $24.00 per hour based on experience.
